Casper Expands Sleep Product Line With Launch Of The Casper Dog Mattress

Casper recently announced the launch of the Casper dog mattress, further expanding its celebrated line of universally comfortable sleep products and continuing to redefine the sleep category.
The new Casper dog mattress was designed by the engineering minds behind all of Casper's products. Constructed using a combination of pressure-relieving memory foam and durable support foam, the universally comfortable bed is perfect for all pups. Extensive dog-centered research and studies resulted in a mattress that caters to a dog's innate sleeping and nesting behaviors. The sleep surface is designed with a loose fabric top that enables digging and den-building behavior, and its foam bolsters provide a secure, comforting sleep space in addition to a place for pups to rest their heads. The machine washable cover is thoughtfully engineered with durable fabrics that shed fur and withstand any bites or scratches.
The Casper dog mattress is available in three colors (grey, blue, and taupe) and three sizes (Small, up to 30 pounds, $125; Medium, up to 60 pounds, $150; and Large, up to 90 pounds, $225).
"Since our launch in 2014, thousands of customers have shared photos of their dogs snoozing on Casper mattresses," said Philip Krim, Casper co-founder and CEO. "We immediately realized that our mission to provide a better night's sleep for everyone should also include our dogs. But designing a perfect dog bed was a unique challenge."
"Our typical product design process involves human centered design, including intensive beta testing and detailed user feedback sessions—things we couldn't rely on with dogs cause they tend to be less verbal," said Jeff Chapin, Casper co-founder and Chief Product Officer. "For almost two years, we studied the sleep patterns of dogs of all shapes and sizes. We even worked with a dog psychologist to learn more about canine behavior and used scanning electron microscopy to understand the interaction of different dog furs with different textiles. After developing dozens of prototypes, we finally found the perfect combination of materials to create a mattress that every dog loves to sleep on."
To celebrate the launch, Casper is hosting a Dogfluencer Steak Dinner and opening a pop-up dog mattress showroom, the Casper Dog House, in New York City. Famous "influencer" dogs, including Toast and Marnie, will walk down a green turf carpet and feast on a three-course steak dinner prepared by a gourmet chef. The Casper Dog House will be open to the public on August 19 and August 20. Dogs are invited to try the new mattress, jump in a tennis ball pit, explore a smell museum, and slurp fresh hot dog water.
Casper has also teamed up with the beloved animal content destination, The Dodo. As its content and donation partner, The Dodo will live-stream the launch experiences on social media. Casper and The Dodo are also donating dog mattresses to a local animal shelter, Animal Haven.
The launch of the Casper dog mattress marks the next step in Casper's domination of the sleep category and the company's global growth. This announcement follows the news of recent international expansion to the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and an exclusive partnership with West Elm in the U.S.
