Weir’s Furniture Announces New Director Of Marketing & Advertising

Furniture World News Desk on 8/26/2016

Weir’s Furniture recently reported that it has named Harry Bouton as director of marketing and advertising. Bouton has more than 28 years of experience, primarily in the retail industry.

As the head of marketing and advertising, Bouton plans to introduce Weir’s Furniture to a new generation of customers by making consistent and emotional connections with customers. In one of his first initiatives, Bouton has overseen the creation of a new radio campaign for the company, entitled, “Remember When….”

The radio campaign includes 15 and 30 second spots featuring a couple reminiscing about different events in their home with a piece of furniture as a spotlight. In one ad, the couple remembers binge watching movies during an ice storm leaving a hot chocolate stain on the sofa. In another, the husband recalls the football team breaking a lamp during a get together. The campaign will run on Dallas/Fort Worth radio stations through Labor Day.

“Weir’s has a loyal customer base that spans several generations,” said Bouton. “We want young adults to know they can afford quality, hand-crafted furniture that’s made in America. We also want to communicate Weir’s has contemporary furnishings from today’s most popular designers.”

In addition to the new radio campaign, Bouton has also hired The Ward Group to handle all media buying services and Aardvark Communications to handle public relations activities.

Weir’s Furniture has long been recognized for quality and value. Bouton will reinforce Weir’s as the trusted source for furniture to its core audience, as well as millennials, who may not be familiar with the brand. Weir’s is redirecting its messaging to include more social media and interactive media that speaks to the younger customer.

“My expertise is grounded in a keen understanding of how products, experiences and services come to life,” said Bouton. “In addition to providing creative and strategic direction, we are focusing on innovative practices to storytelling and audience engagement. Weir’s has a rich history with customers and manufacturers, and we will be sharing that in a variety of different ways moving forward.”
