Mattress Firm Appoints Director of Brand Development

Mattress Firm Inc., one of the nation’s leading specialty mattress retailers, announced that Kim Roberts has joined the company as director of brand development. In this new role, Roberts will be responsible for executing the company’s brand architecture and directing the alignment of the branding initiatives across all consumer and customer touch points as well as internal constituents. “Kim is a seasoned veteran with nearly 15 years of communications and retail management experience,” said Bill Dandy, executive vice president of branding for Mattress Firm. “Her extensive knowledge of national retailing and experience with customer-based marketing initiatives will be an enormous asset for Mattress Firm.” Prior to joining Mattress Firm, Roberts built a solid background in retail branding through a career highlighted with roles at several high-profile companies including CompUSA, The Home Depot, Madden Communications, Simmons Bedding Company and EarthLink, Inc. While at Home Depot, Roberts developed new store concepts and communication strategies, served as the liaison between merchandising, stores and the marketing department, and developed and implemented a multi-channel marketing plan to drive sales. “Kim’s retail experience coupled with her knowledge of the bedding industry will allow her to bring a strong blend of talent to our organization that will be invaluable in our efforts to brand our company,” said Dandy. “We expect Kim to play an integral role as we continue to establish Mattress Firm as the premium destination for better sleep.” Roberts holds an associate of arts degree in Computer Science from Kilgore Jr. College, a bachelor of science degree in Business Management from LeTourneau University, and a master of business administration degree from Mercer University.
