Deets Furniture Begins New Era with Leadership from Third Generation

Deets Furniture announced a milestone for its family-owned business, which was founded in 1961 by Martin & Norma Deets.  Kyle Deets (son of Ron & Sharon) & his wife Maegan have purchased Deets Furniture from Ron & Sharon Deets who have been involved with the company for the last 41 years.  As the third generation takes over, Deets Furniture is holding a special Retirement Sale with discounts storewide and giveaways all summer.

Deets Furniture opened its doors in 1961 in Madison, NE.  In 1987 the company moved to North Riverside Boulevard in Norfolk, NE.  In 1997 Deets constructed a 72,000 sf store and moved operations to its current location on S. Hwy 81 in Norfolk.  In 2004, a 12,000 sf Budget Furniture & Mattress store was added and in 2018, the Deets family opened an Ashley HomeStore at their 8 acre location on S. Hwy 81 in Norfolk.

Working in the family business isn’t anything new for Kyle, as his first job at the store was cutting the grass, then working in the warehouse and in sales during high school and college.  After 9 years of working outside the family business, Kyle rejoined the company in 2015 and has been in key leadership roles since.

This generational transition will give Ron Deets, known as “Double XL,” time for his passions – BBQ, golf and family.  Ron & Sharon are proud that Deets Furniture will continue onto the third generation of their family.

For 62 years, Deets Furniture has served its loyal customers and has gone the extra mile to help them beautifully furnish their homes.  From its recently remodeled showrooms, Deets Furniture will continue to provide an inspirational shopping experience with a focus on fashion, service and value.
