The Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2025 is set to open its doors from March 1 to 4, marking the beginning of Asia’s new furniture buying season. Spanning 100,000 square meters across the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), MIFF 2025 will showcase a diverse range of exhibitors and products to international buyers.
The event has confirmed nearly 700 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions, with participation still increasing. Exhibitors represent markets including Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Mainland China, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the United States. Based on past attendance, MIFF anticipates welcoming approximately 20,000 visitors from 140 countries and regions. Pre-registrations have already exceeded 8,500 attendees from over 115 locations.
“It is vital that we remain open and welcoming to professionals from across the globe. By doing so, we can explore new opportunities, stay relevant, and add value to businesses while reinforcing MIFF’s pivotal role in the global supply chain,” said MIFF Founder and Chairman, Dato’ Dr. Tan Chin Huat.
Expanded Buyer Programs and Key Exhibits
With a rising number of first-time attendees in recent years, MIFF is extending its Valued Visitor Privilege (VVP) hosted buyer program, offering complimentary accommodation to early-bird newcomers.
The event is recognized for its extensive variety of furniture and its focus on Malaysia’s solid wood furniture industry. MIFF OFFICE, Southeast Asia’s largest workspace solutions showcase, will once again be a highlight. Leading Malaysian manufacturers such as Ecomate, Merryfair, Wegmans, Poh Huat, WA Furniture, Favourite Design, Triswift, Inspiwood, SWS, and Johann & Joann will be among the exhibitors.
Sustainability will also be in focus, with products made from regenerated oil palm waste on display. This initiative is a collaboration between Japan’s Panasonic Housing Solutions and Malaysia’s Shantawood, one of the country’s largest chair producers.
Other key exhibits include the Muar Hall, organized by the Muar Furniture Association (MFA) to promote Malaysian exports, and the designRena Hall, featuring high-end Malaysian furniture collections.
“The Muar Hall in MIFF is an excellent platform created for our members to expand their brands in the international market. MFA’s plans for 2025 include further enhancing the position of the Muar furniture industry in the international market, promoting sustainable development, and diversifying export channels,” said Steve Ong, President of MFA.
Technology, Design Competitions, and Industry Engagement
This year, the MIFF Furniverse App 2.0 will serve as a digital assistant, helping buyers connect with exhibitors and navigate the event efficiently.
The MIFF Furniture Design Competition (MIFF FDC) will award the top young designer for the theme “Fashion Inspired Furniture,” following a record 335 entries. In 2026, the competition will expand with MFA as an official event partner, supporting further development and prototyping of winning designs for MIFF exhibitions.
Two additional key events include the debut of KL iDesign Week, a collaboration between MIFF and Guangzhou Design Week to elevate Asian design, and the return of the MFID Awards (My Favourite International Design), which highlights outstanding architecture and interior design.
The Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) and the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) will also participate, focusing on sustainable practices in furniture production.
