Pantone Names Mocha Mousse as 2025 Color of the Year

Furniture World News Desk on 12/5/2024

Pantone has announced PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse as its Color of the Year for 2025. The soft brown tone is celebrated for its ability to evoke warmth and comfort while maintaining a classic and refined aesthetic.

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, explained the selection, stating, “Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace the aspirational and luxe. A flavorful brown shade, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse envelops us with its sensorial warmth.”

This year marks the 26th anniversary of Pantone's Color of the Year program, which highlights colors reflective of societal trends. In recognition of the milestone, Pantone is hosting events worldwide to make the shade more accessible. These include lighting iconic landmarks like the London Eye in Mocha Mousse on December 5, 2024, and additional experiences in cities such as New York, Shanghai, and Mumbai.
