Pride Manufacturing Company, a leading producer of hardwood turnings and the world's largest producer of golf tees introduces custom, prepackaged kits of assorted woodturnings, hardware and accessories for RTA manufacturers. "We're adding value to their manufacturing process," explained Bob Burr, Director of Sales and Marketing. He's referring to Pride's unique service, which benefits RTA companies with reduced inventory and labor costs, and the ability to consolidate purchasing of small components. "It's about providing options for the customer," pointed out Dave Johnson, Pride's Product Manager. RTA companies can mix components, such as knobs, buttons, plugs, dowel pins and biscuits, in a variety of sizes, with hardware and accessories needed to assemble their furniture. According to Pride, the optimal mix would include up to five pieces per bag. The company also provides a variety of customized packaging options including text, graphics and barcodes that can be imprinted on clear or customized polybags from 2.5 inches wide to 15 inches long. Unit prices range from 4 to 12 cents depending on bag size and imprinting. All orders are FOB Guilford and shipping requirements per the customer's request. With the recent acquisition of Allen-Rogers, a woodturning business in New Hampshire, Pride offers one of the most comprehensive lines of small and large turnings, more than 4,000 different components, in the industry. For customers, this means a broad product mix of turnings up to 3 inches in diameter and 29 inches in length, new custom capabilities, and improved manufacturing efficiencies with the added capacity. Founded in 1930, Pride is a fourth-generation, family-owned business that operates two state-of-the-art sawmills and four manufacturing plants in Maine, Wisconsin and Florida. Its turnings are well known in the industry for their quality and precision tolerances. The company sells commercial lumber, turnings and golf tee products worldwide through a comprehensive distribution network, and direct to OEM and major retailers.
