Berkline announced that it is unveiling new groupings and recliners at the April market that offer customers a choice of more than 600 covers at more promotional price points than the company has offered for several years. The groupings, with prices of $699 and $799, and reclining chairs with prices at $399, will be U.S.-manufactured products with variations on construction and that use an imported mechanism for the reclining feature. The new line offers dealers and customers a wider selection of Berkline products from which to choose. “These products will offer all of the Berkline comfort and construction” said Bruce Sinning, Berkline vice president of merchandising. “A major difference between the Comfort Collection sofas, loveseats and chairs and those of other manufacturers is that theirs are generally offered with a limited number of covers. Ours will come with a choice of more than 600 covers.” Two groups will be offered at $699; three will be available at $799 and four recliners have $399 price tags. “We’re employing a significant level of traditional Berkline construction in terms of foam, fill and fabric options, but with a few enhancements to achieve these price levels. It has similar comfort without the higher-end cost items.” The groupings will be constructed at Berkline’s Morristown, Tenn. factory. The only portion not U.S. produced will be the imported mech. The products will be available for shipping 60 days after the April market. Beginning in July groupings can reordered and available to ship in 21 days.
