Lincoln Harris, a full-service corporate real estate services firm, announced that it has been named property manager for Showplace, one of the East Coast’s most desirable destinations for conventions, trade shows and other events.
Efforts are already under way to strengthen and re-focus marketing and branding of Showplace, a High Point landmark known for its stunning contemporary design and the impeccable service and amenities enjoyed by tenants during the October and April editions of the world-renowned International Home Furnishings Market and other events held throughout the year.
“Showplace is an incomparable event venue, and we are excited about the opportunity to develop the facility’s potential and position it for even greater success,” said Richie Faulkenberry, senior vice president for Lincoln Harris. “We have taken an important first step with the addition of two industry veterans, Rick King and Dave Oddo, to the Showplace management team, who will work closely with chief operating officer Joanna Easter and the rest of the extremely talented Showplace staff already on hand.”
Mr. King, named director of marketing for Showplace, is an experienced executive manager whose background in the home furnishings industry spans more than 25 years, most recently as vice president and general manager for Bluefish Home LLC in High Point. Mr. Oddo, who assumes the position of senior vice president, is a veteran of more than 20 years in the real estate industry with extensive experience in property management. He is a candidate for the LEED accredited administrator for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
In addition to Showplace, Lincoln Harris has also assumed the property management function for Showplace West and three other show facilities in downtown High Point – Hamilton 200, Hamilton 320 and Hamilton 330.
While the Showplace team has begun to outline its new vision for the future of the venue, preparing to host tenants and buyers for the Fall Market is the top priority, Faulkenberry said. Several new tenants for the Oct. 17-22 market have been signed in the past week, including Revco International. Visitors to Showplace will also find a new restaurant, 100 High, located in Showplace West, where Showplace will be hosting its kickoff party for Fall Market.
“Our tenants know Showplace for our great service and all of the amenities and events we offer to enhance the value of their experience at market and make their buyers feel right at home,” King said. “We’re committed to not only maintaining but improving on that well-deserved reputation.”
