ViewIT Technologies announced that they will unveil a new version of their award-winning web-based design tool at the Las Vegas furniture market this September. ViewIT, a pioneer in 3D design-related sales technologies says that this version's focus is on three core elements: Access, intuition and excitement, as a way to draw consumers into the retailer's store - and keep them there to buy.
3Dream.net is a to-the-trade 3D room planner that can be used within a store's design center to create room projects in 2D, then at the click of a button switch to 3D. The live virtual space can then be fully decorated and accessorized with thousands of 3D representations of 'real world' products and materials. The results are photo-quality room images and personalized tear sheets that communicate to the customer what their rooms could look like - if they made the purchase. Boosting customer-confidence, eliminating buyer fears and increasing per sale amounts are the program's main goals.
Ross Barlett, CEO of ViewIT and the program's chief architect, feels that implementing the technology in the store will also bring many intangible benefits to the retailer, not the least of which is to drive traffic to your door. "In a world of sameness, consumers want and need inspiration and excitement - especially when it comes to creating their own personal sanctuary. And there is a phenomenal amount of excitement in being able to see what your new rooms will look like before you make that big decision." He feels that today's inexpensive computer hardware and intuitive 3D technology make it very accessible retailers to devote a small area in their stores to create a virtual interactive design center. Citing how retailers such as Barnes and Nobles, Borders, Starbuck's and BassPro Shops create areas that draw, inspire and keep customers engaged for hours is something that retailers can easily implement but many are missing out on. "We have a great talent in showcasing product," he adds, "but the more products we show; the more the consumer is confused. They need and want help to put it all together. This is a terrific opportunity to offer something they can't get online."
Online since 2008, 3Dream has attracted thousands of industry professionals, many of whom have offered suggestions for improvements. The goal of the major re-design was to increase performance and stability, make it easier to navigate in 3D, be more accessible and informative, and to bring forward special features of the program that could only previously be viewed when logged in.
ViewIT Technologies will be previewing the new version of 3Dream at WMC Building C, Retailer Resource Center #510, and is expected to be live early fall, 2009.
3Dream is available to industry professionals for just $39 a month. Designers, retailers and vendors are invited to sign up for a free 30-day trial account. To register online visit www.3Dream.net, or call 1-800-449-9984 for information.
