immcologne announced that the “Pure Village“, featuring premium design showcases furniture, lighting and accessories for living spaces will be one of the highlights of the next imm cologne. This first furnishings show of the year will take place from January 19-24, 2010 in Cologne, Germany.

“Pure Village“ at imm was developed by the Dutch Designer Dick Spierenburg. Instead of showing individual furnishing pieces such as a sofa by Marcel Wanders, a chair by Konstantin Grcic or a shelf by Arik Levy the concept of Pure Village is to show furniture pieces in an integrated context whereby lighting, furniture and fabrics provide a backdrop for showing design at living environments at its best.

The exhibition provides a new presentation format for exhibitors at this event in Hall 3.2 of the fairground. The section will border on the show’s “Pure Segment“ (Hall 11) and “d3 Design Talents Forum“ (Hall 3.1). imm will fill up 10 halls of the exhibition center. “Pure Village“ will cater to categories such as classics, experimental design, home textiles, wallpapers, carpets, lighting and accessories. Expected attendees are international architects, designers, interior designers, lighting designers and retailers who will use Pure Village to capture current interior design trends from all over the world.

“Pure Village“ will also address trends in the bathroom segment – an area showcased at imm for the first time. “Living Bath Rooms“ will illustrate how the modern bathroom is integrated into other living areas featuring new applications and styles.

To create a “market square feeling“ at the largest furnishing Tadeshow worldwide,  Designer Dick Spierenburg has created a modular village structure with booth spaces that allow for individual design by the exhibiting companies.
