Furniture Mart Enterprises, LLC, is generating a buzz among furniture industry and city leaders alike with an official announcement about its new identity and plans for the 7.5 million square-foot market complex to be developed in Las Vegas. World Market Center is the new name for the market complex and will serve as the umbrella brand to the market components of a multi-phased campus dedicated to furniture and related industries. The Center will be the home to several industry segments including home furnishings and office furnishings. "World Market Center represents a dynamic new showcase for the industry in the new millennium, which will draw from all over the world," said Jack Kashani, a Managing Partner of Furniture Mart Enterprises. "After much research we concluded that the identity and scope of the project must reflect its global orientation, and that the industry sub-markets represented must share a common branding theme throughout the Center." The campus is being built on 57 acres of land located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas - a site that boasts 120,000 hotel rooms within a five-mile radius. Upon completion, World Market Center will comprise several multi-story buildings. The first phase will dominate the complex and become known as World Market Center Towers- covering four million square feet of permanent showrooms dedicated to all facets of home and office furnishings. To be built in three phases, World Market Center Towers will comprise three separate buildings and will be open to trade only. Also housed on the campus will be World Market Convention Center, a one million square-foot temporary exhibit space that will be utilized throughout the year for trade shows and events. The one-and-a-half million square-foot World Trade Fair will cater to sub-markets of the home furnishings industry. World Trade Fair will showcase lighting, accessories, floor coverings, area rugs, gifts and other related sectors. Rounding out the complex is World Pavilions, a one million square foot complex that will be dedicated to a design center open to the design community. World Pavilions will display products from countries around the world. "We are excited to have World Market Center as the new identity for this unique showcase," said Shawn Samson, a Managing Partner of Furniture Mart Enterprises. "World Market Center will set a new unparalleled standard of style, presentation and amenities for the exhibitors and buyers alike."
