DuPont Announces New Leadership Team For Home and Industrial Textiles Unit

DuPont announced today the leadership team for the Home and Industrial Textiles Unit of the newly formed Apparel and Textile Sciences Business. As previously announced, the new unit was created by merging the apparel, home textiles and related businesses of DuPont™ Lycra®, Nylon Textile, Nylon Industrial Specialties, DuPont™ Dacron® Branded Specialties and Fiberfill. Bill Ghitis, president, will lead the new Global Home and Industrial Textiles Unit. Most recently, Ghitis served as vice president of New Business Development for Lycra® His previous experience includes global marketing and business leadership roles in both Lycra® and Dacron® Fibers. Ghitis has 28 years of experience with DuPont and has led efforts for DuPont in Europe, South America and the United States since 1996. Tom Kearns will report to Ghitis as director, Global Home Textiles, responsible for fibers, fabrics and new technologies for the entire home textiles business on a global base. This new business unit brings together existing upholstery, furniture and sleep products groups and includes Nylon, Lycra® and Dacron@ fiberfill. "Our business team is dedicated to increasing market focus, delivering newness and growing our value differentiation," said Ghitis. "We'll do this in a way that fulfills DuPont Apparel and Textile Science's vision to increasingly grow consumer preference and loyalty for our customers' offerings by linking DuPont's science with the promise of our brands." Kearns leadership team will include Donna Kelloway, who will continue to lead the sleep products business, and John Gorcyca assumes responsibility for the Global Upholstery Business, which will include the nylon yam and flock, Lycra®, and the furniture fiberfill. Gorcyca replaces Karen Ellis-Brisbon as she moves over to Manager, Government & Contract, for the Industrial Textiles unit also under Ghitis. Wes Jones will manage Marketing Communications for home textiles. "Donna Kelloway and John Gorcyca bring a wealth of textile industry experience to bear on the exciting opportunities available to us as we broaden our offering with a more market-focused approach to the business," said Kearns.
