Carolina Girl Furniture announced that , "There is a new girl in town, more specifically a Carolina Furniture Girl, and she has created a new shopping experience for fashionable and comfortable furniture."

The company, founded by  Carolina girl Pam Hughes, President and Owner of Carolina Girl Furniture, started her new North Carolina based company to offer fashion forward furniture designs and well-developed eco friendly construction that is comfortable and practical.

Carolina Girl Furniture sells through home furnishings retailers and the interior design community and will show for the first time in High Point at Suites At Market Square #G-2034.

Currently the product line includes sofas, chairs, ottomans, chaise loungers, sofa sectionals, pillows and doggie beds. Another of CGF’s advantages is its quick turnarounds on design fashions while still offering plenty of profit opportunity for the dealer.  Part of that strategy is Pam’s willingness to talk directly to the consumer to listen to their “voice” on what they want in their home furnishing designs.  Pam invites feedback and keeps her customers informed when it comes to furniture fashion.  “I have incorporated our fabric shopping experience into our blog and Facebook page so people can get first hand experience on choosing the hottest furniture fashions.”

Speaking of the hottest fashions, Pam is not afraid to mix textures, hues, materials or pillow sizes. “I don’t want to produce the same stuff that has been out there for 20 years, I want different, stylish and fun.” That is exactly why Pam has collaborated with designer Kim Luther.  Kim is Pam’s head furniture designer and has a flair for creating looks that are funky, creative and colorful.  “We have a lot of fun putting together fabrics and frame options,” Kim comments.  “We are offering a stylish piece of furniture that is comfortable and sustainable below average retail prices.”  With sofas starting at $599 [retail] and sectionals starting at $899 [retail], the consumer is certainly getting the value from the Carolina Girls.

Pam Hughes grew up in the furniture industry and is now a 3rd generation furniture maker.  She also owns NC Upholstery and was a former partner in Hughes Furniture Industries in Randleman, NC.  Pam aspired to build one-of-a-kind art piece collections using a Carolina theme.  Her inspiration came from the Carolina Girl theme song, ‘Carolina Girl – the best in the world, sweet Carolina Girl,’ by Chairmen of the Board.  Growing up in North Carolina made Pam a true naturalist.  She loves the outdoors and all aspects of growing up in the south and appreciates what nature’s raw materials have afforded her; trees for making fine furniture and cotton for making fine fabrics.  Because of this love for nature, Pam has developed a way to manufacture a 100% eco-friendly sofa and she uses American made materials whenever possible.

She developed a business model that allows CGF to offer unique design styles in short runs allowing for one-of-a-kind experiences.  Each sofa and chair is named for its stylish design personality.  Winey Girl got her name from her rich, deep, merlot look, velvety feel and brushed antique nail heads.  General Girl’s astute mix of leather and textured ribbed fabric along with its silk pillows and bold nail heads make for a sophisticated and strong statement.  Each piece has a girl’s name including: Tweetie Girl, Sweetie Girl, Flower Girl, Lazy Girl, Country Girl, etc.
