Oriental Weavers of America will introduce the Benedictine Collection Apr. 19 through Apr. 27 at 210 E. Commerce Street, Space D-312, in High Point at the International Home Furnishings Market. The Benedictine Collection, comprised of 10-color patterns, is created with 2-ply heat-set olefin and a plush pile. Woven with a bank of newly updated colors, this collection takes its inspiration from uninterrupted tradition that began 1,500 years ago. Within the Benedictine monasteries, where the designs originated, monks still balance prayer, learning and work, preserving the achievements of the past and creatively continuing them for the future. The designs of the Benedictine Heritage are derived from things that bring a sense of peace and stability to those who view them. Suggested retail price for a 6x9 is $299. Royalties from the sale of the Benedictine rugs go towards building schools in underprivileged countries. New patterns will be added to other existing collections. Existing collections include, but are not limited to, Bob Mackie, Ancient Inspirations, Claire Murray, Taba, Amira, Toshka, Nile and Mystical Reflections.
