Sleepy’s announced that the company, headquartered in Hicksville, New York hosted the first ever Corporate American Cancer Society Relay for Life event in the Eastern Division on Friday, August 6th, with over 450 employees and their families, joined by a number of their vendors in attendance. The event featured a variety of family fun activities including a dunk tank, pony rides, and barbeque, along with a make shift track on the grounds of the facility to walk in memory of loved ones and in honor of those facing a journey with cancer. The Sleepy’s team Relayed until midnight when they closed the evening with a dessert reception and a feeling of HOPE still in the air.
Through the dedication and donations of the Sleepy’s employees and many supporters, nearly $110,000 was raised including a $10,000 donation from the Sleepy’s Corporation presented by David Acker, President and Adam Blank, COO, the night of the event. All of the funds raised will help create more birthday’s with less cancer for communities all over the world by helping you stay well, get well, by finding cures and by fighting back.
