Furniture First Hires Vice President of Merchandising

Furniture First Buying Group announced that it has hired Tony Moretti for the newly created position of Vice President of Merchandising. With over 30 years in the furniture industry, Tony has experience in buying and selling products, showroom layouts, merchandising plans, increasing retail sales while heading up a team of buyers. He has worked closely with manufacturers, fabric mills,and retailers and travels overseas to the Asian Markets to view product diversity and manufacturing capabilities.

Tony’s past positions include, Vice President of Merchandising and Design for England Furniture, Inc.; Vice President of Merchandising for Jordan’s Furniture; General Merchandise Manager for American Home Furnishings; and Upholstery Buyer for Alpert’s Furniture.

Tony will officially join Furniture First on Monday, January 3, 2011. His primary duties will be to manage the team of buyers, serve the Members of Furniture First and bring buyer and seller together between our valued Supplier Partners and our Members. Tony will also help Members match up future holiday events with valued product promotions.
