Top ten bedding producer Therapedic International announced that it is kicking off 2011 by debuting additions to two of their top selling collections, BackSense and Kathy Ireland Home by Therapedic, at the Las Vegas Furniture Market, January 24 – 28, 2011.
“This is an exciting time at Therapedic. We worked tirelessly with retailers and licensees to improve features on two of our most successful product lines,” said President and CEO Gerry Borreggine. “Enhancements were made to each mattress’ support, firmness, durability, visual appeal – everything – while continuing to offer retailers the best look and comfort found at competitive price points. Consumers, who continue to place a higher value on the quality of their sleep, will find the offerings in the BackSense and Kathy Ireland Home by Therapedic collections add a refreshingly different approach to their comfort experience. These additions also represent Therapedic’s ability to listen to our customers’ desire for great values, leading fashions, and beds that provide the ultimate in comfort, support and durability.”
BackSense ($399 - $999 queen) comes to Vegas with new features and a whole new look in the under-$1,000 price point.
Components such as latex, memory foam and Soft Tech micro coil over coil have been enhanced in the BackSense offerings at price points not usually found within the market place.
With the addition of a Soft Touch Euro Top, the new Sapphire Micro Euro Top in the BackSense line instantly adjusts to sleep movements and the body’s natural contours. The top is also 50 percent stronger and 28 percent cooler than the top of a conventional pillow top set.
BackSense will continue to feature HourGlass, an ergonomically designed polypropylene insert that is designed to sit atop the coil unit. This insert, in the shape of an hourglass, increases support firmness by 18 percent in the shoulders and hips and 13 percent at the lumbar area.
With the enhancements made to its overall look and feels, the new BackSense line is designed to provide retailers the best style and values found in high velocity, key price points.
For Las Vegas Market, Therapedic will launch five new models in the Kathy Ireland Home by Therapedic Essentials collection ($599 - $1,999 in queen), the first additions since the collection’s debut.
One enhancement to the new models is the addition of HourGlass Back Support, a posture pad in the shape of an hourglass that is inserted into the upholstery package of each mattress. The HourGlass element adds up to 18 percent more support firmness in the shoulder and hip area of the mattress, and 13 percent more support firmness in the lumbar area of the mattress.
In response to retailer requests, colorful beige and blue cover fabrics featuring repeating patterns have been added to the ticking. The finishing touch to the new introductions is the visually appealing, color coordinated border fabric featuring an embroidered pattern of the Kathy Ireland Home logo.
In collaboration with luxury sleep systems designer, Hollandia International, Therapedic will also introduce a brand new concept in bedding with the colorful iLight Bed, which can change the overall ambiance of the bedroom with the touch of a button.
Research shows that color and light, when used in the right way, can play a role in the way consumers feel in their homes, whether the goal is to relax, feel productive or to entertain.
The iLight bed’s design includes a custom upholstered headboard that features an LED light-changing system which casts a soft hue of light into the room. With the touch of a button the light can change among green, red, blue or white, each one evoking its own ambiance ranging from calming, invigorating, well-being or purifying, respectively.
When paired with Hollandia’s Platinum-Luxe™ adjustable base and Platinum-Luxe™ 3D mattress, prices for the iLight bed start at $18,000 in queen.
The new Therapedic collections and Hollandia Collection for Therapedic bill be shown in space B-822 at the Las Vegas Furniture Market.
