Two Ohio manufacturers with Amish roots announced they will make their first showing at High Point Market this spring. Country View Furniture and Jacob & Levi's, both specialists in high quality, solid wood furniture, will unveil their products in the IHFC's Design Center wing, space D1014.
Known for their dining room furniture, especially casual dining, Country View Woodworking was founded in 1993. "We have never had to be that focused on marketing in the past," said company President, Roy Miller. "We feel like we do need to be more aggressively marketing now and High Point is where the action is." Miller scouted High Point Market last fall to help make his decision. "The traffic was definitely there and especially at the IHFC," he said. "It made our decision to come to High Point a lot easier."
"We're very excited about our first trip to High Point," said Scott Troyer, a partner at Jacob & Levi's. Troyer cited the company's need to expand their market area, and to create a place where their sales reps can bring customers to experience the breadth of products and styles offered by Jacob & Levi's.
Both companies are headquartered in Ohio's Amish country, and their workforces reflect that heritage with the highest regard for materials and craftsmanship. Working in solid maple, oak and cherry, Country View Woodworking builds traditional and casual dining room furniture, as well as some living, entertainment and occasional tables. Jacob & Levi's builds bedroom furniture in traditional styles that push into the contemporary, said Troyer.
Because of their high quality and price points that tend toward the higher end, both companies feel they are ideally suited for the IHFC's Design Center, and they have a lot to offer the design trade and buyers who frequent the space. "There's a lot of innovation here in styling and color," said Miller of Country View Woodworking. "We appeal to a wide variety of design tastes."
With upwards of 20 finishing options for their bedrooms, Jacob & Levi's can satisfy designers' custom needs, Troyer stated. "And remember that all products are solid wood and made here in America. We can respond quickly and specifically to customers' needs."
