Alexander Julian, Inc. Signs License Agreement With Decor-Rest Furniture Ltd.

Alexander Julian, Inc. announced that a design and licensing collaboration agreement has been signed with Decor-Rest Furniture Ltd., a leading manufacturer of fashionable, mid-priced upholstery. The agreement provides for Decor-Rest to develop, manufacture and market a full line of fabric and leather upholstered furniture under the Alexander Julian At Home brand. Bruce Tilley, president of Alexander Julian's home division noted, "When we met Decor-Rest we knew we had found a jewel. Decor-Rest, based in Woodbridge (Toronto), Ontario, manufacturers a complete line of fabric and leather stationary upholstery in a wide variety of styles for today's fashion conscious consumer. The Alexander Julian At Home collection marks the first licensed program for the company. Decor-Rest will launch the Alexander Julian products at the April 2003 International Home Furnishings Market in High Point. The Alexander Julian At Home collection is slated to feature approximately eight groups that will include sofas, loveseats, chairs, ottomans and chaise lounges designed by Alexander Julian for this program. Julian, an award-winning textile designer whose work is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum, personally designed many of the exclusive fabrics. The upholstery complements numerous other Alexander Julian designed products and remains true to Julian's fashion inspired vision. Decor-Rest intends to introduce more than 50 different fabrics at the April market concentrating primarily on traditional and transitional styling.
