Brazil's leading furniture manufacturers will be gathering at Movelsul Brasil 2004, scheduled for March 8 to 12, 2004, in Bento Gonçalves, State of Rio Grande do Sul, the country's largest furniture producing center. With almost a year to go before the event, half of the booths have already been sold. Such great interest demonstrates the importance of the traditional trade show, as well as the success the Brazilian furniture industry is currently experiencing, highly representative for the local economy by billing approximately US$ 5 billion. Out of this total, more than US$ 500 million correspond to exports to the different continents. An important share of this market will take part in Movelsul Brasil 2004. During the last tradeshow in 2002, 414 exhibitors, distributed along an air-conditioned area of more than 50 thousand square meters, displayed their products to 32.5 thousand visitors. There were professionals coming from the whole of Brazil and from 53 countries. Movelsul Brasil 2004 portrays the industry's production capacity, quality, and creativity in Brazil. In addition to product exhibition, the event reveals raw material trends on the Vitrine do Futuro (Showcase of the Future). The Salão Vende Design (Design Selling Salon) is the area intended for the design offices to show their works. The awarding of Latin America's most important furniture design acclaim also takes place during Movelsul Brasil 2004. The Salão Design Movelsul 2004 recognizes creative talents and their design solutions for furniture, valuating those who are inspiring, in life, to find ways for a better world. Foreign entrepreneurs interested in doing business with Brazilian manufacturers will be in touch with the exporters. "Movelsul Brasil 2004 is certainly the best opportunity to get to know the best innovations in Latin America's furniture industry", summarizes César Cini, the event's president.
