Heywood Wakefield Furniture Factory Converted To Assited Living Facility

It is perhaps an a commentary on the state of furniture manufacturing in New England States over the past 40 years, that the former Hewood-Wakefield furniture factory in Gardner, Massachusetts is being turned into an assisted living facility.

The News Telegram (http://bit.ly/mHUPNb) reported that the iconic New England furniture factory that closed its doors in 1979, will house, "78 studio apartments, some larger than others, and will also include a pub, wellness and media rooms, full daily activity programs, and will have staff available 24 hours a day."
