Irving E. Gennet, co-founder of Sleepmaster Products Company, the largest Serta licensee, passed away in Boca Raton, Florida on December 31 It, 2002. After graduating from Lehigh University and New Jersey Law School, Mr. Gennet specialized in the practice of bankruptcy law until 194 1, when he Joined his brother, Abram, ', as a partner in Sleepmaster. He sold his interest in Sleepmaster to his brother in 1970 and retired from the industry. The nation's oldest bankruptcy trustee at 92 years old, Gennet had the unique distinction of two successful careers in his lifetime, When he moved to Florida from New Jersey in 1972, he became a Trustee in Bankruptcy and later a Panel. He was a, member of the Association of Bankruptcy Trustees and received an award for 30 Years of service as a Trustee at the NABT Annual Convention in Ft. Myers in September 2001. He received the Brotherhood Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews Furniture Division in 1970. He was also a founder, officer and director of the West Orange Savings and Loan Association. Irving Gennet is survived by Pauline, his wife of 64 years, and his son, Michael, President of the San Francisco Mart.
