La-Z-Boy Incorporated announced that it has completed a private placement of $86 million in La-Z-Boy Incorporated notes. The notes were placed in two tranches with bullet maturities of seven and ten years at fixed interest rates. The seven year notes were issued at 4.56% and the ten year notes were issued at 5.25%. Comerica Incorporated (NYSE: CMA) and SPP Capital Partners, LLC acted as advisors in the transaction. The proceeds from this debt issuance will be used to reduce current borrowings under the company's bank credit facilities and for general corporate purposes. Commenting on the announcement, La-Z-Boy senior vice president and chief financial officer David M. Risley said, "This transaction significantly strengthened the financial flexibility of our overall capital structure by laddering our debt maturities and allowed us to take advantage of what are historically very attractive interest rates. We were also very pleased that the demand for the offering of these notes was oversubscribed and that the spreads over the comparable Treasury securities was very compelling."
