Hurtado – Spain's leading producer of upscale, European-style furniture – is expanding its Amadeus Collection as well as introducing several new pieces at the International Home Furnishings Market later this month. Hurtado, which made its market debut last April, will also celebrate its 60th anniversary of a commitment to extraordinary quality, value and service with a "Casablanca"-themed party on Friday night. "After 60 years of producing some of the world's finest furniture, we're ready to make our mark in High Point and across North America as we have in some 40 countries around the world," said Ana Hurtado, vice president. Hurtado relocated its U.S. headquarters and showroom to High Point last April. Hurtado furniture is created from the world's highest quality woods and finest veneers by the most skilled team of craftsmen in Spain. Hand carvings, exquisite inlays, distinctive marquetry and superb finishes enhance the inherent beauty of the wood. Collections are inspired by some of the world's most respected historical styles and adapted to meet the needs of today's consumer. Each collection has its own personality and features a unique styling statement. After wide acceptance of the Trianon and Capitolio collections during the spring 2000 market, Hurtado USA will be expanding its Amadeus Collection for the fall market. A new tall eight-drawer dresser, armoire and re-sized night stand will bring this group to the forefront of the Hurtado line. This group, which sells best internationally, has been completely redone for the October market. The accompanying dining room will feature a new marquetry and inlay pattern on the top that brings alive the walnut and exotic inlays that are being used in all the bedroom pieces. The Hurtado Wall System is unique to the American market. This system will accommodate all wide screen televisions and can be built to go around corners. It features a new large computer desk component, a 74" serpentine television/audio breakfront as well as a new double bar unit. It is available in two heights to fit into older construction as well as the new homes with high ceilings. The system features cherry veneers and carved pilasters and gives the final end user a viable option to built-in cabinetry. The Occasional Table line will feature two new living room occasional groups, one with glass tops with an intricately carved base and another with handsomely carved columns with a wood top. There will also be a correlating dining table to match the glass top tables. A round carved split base table will also be offered, that will extend from 48" round to 92" with the two leaves. Hurtado USA will also be introducing a new large console to its Console line. It will feature massive front turned posts and a marble top. The approximate length will be 80" and it will have a decorative apron to enhance its appeal. While it is still relatively new to this market, Hurtado is a force in more than 40 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America and South America. Founded in 1940 in Valencia, Spain, Hurtado is a family-owned business with three generations working together with a team of nearly 300 professionals and skilled craftsmen. In 1997 Hurtado, which has won numerous awards for design and quality, became the first fine furnishings company in Spain to achieve the coveted ISO 9002 certification for meeting and maintaining the highest standards in manufacturing, customer service and distribution. For more information contact Francisco Hurtado, 336/885-6660 President
