THER-A-PEDIC INTERNATIONAL announced that ALHOUDA COMPANY, of Damascus, Syria, has recently signed a License Agreement to manufacturer patented THER-A-PEDIC Medi-Coil® sleep systems in the Middle East country. ALHOUDA COMPANY will trade as THER-A-PEDIC OF SYRIA. ALHOUDA COMPANY is a well-known name in Syria, manufacturing foam products for the entire bedding industry for over 40 years and manufacturing quality mattresses and linens since 1991. ALHOUDA COMPANY's bedding division is directed by M.H. D. Khaled Rankousi, General Manager and Marketing Director. Under his guidance, ALHOUDA has met the ISO 9001 criteria and certification for company standardization. "This is a major accomplishment for THER-A-PEDIC INTERNATIONAL and a tremendous opportunity for ALHOUDA COMPANY," explains Michael A. Pino, President, THER-A-PEDIC INTERNATIONAL. "We are the very first U.S. bedding brand to be introduced to the country of Syria, and in fact, the first non-Middle East brand to enter their market. Mr. Rankousi is very aggressive with Marketing and Merchandising, with a strong quality construction philosophy. I am certain that ALHOUDA COMPANY will make a tremendous impact in the Syrian market very quickly." "Everyone in the bedding industry is aware of THER-A-PEDIC's reputation and ranking in the world," explains Mr. Rankousi. "With their patented products, marketing programs and sales training tools, we will be able to differentiate our products from others on the market and provide our retailers with better support to sell upper end bedding". Just one year ago, THER-A-PEDIC was only represented in Jordan. With the addition of ALHOUDA COMPANY, THER-A-PEDIC is now in Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. "We have had great success recently in the Middle East with our expansion efforts," explained Mr. Pino. "We fully expect to continue our expansion in the Middle East in the upcoming year."
