STORIS Co-Founders Ira Bakst and Donald J. Surdoval announced that the Parsippany based software firm was donating $25,000 to the Twin Towers Orphan Fund on behalf of STORIS’ employees. The fund was established to help those children that lost a parent on the September 11, 2001 attack. In a joint statement, Bakst and Surdoval stated that; "In the past 15 days our city, nation and the world has been literally torn apart by the worst act of terrorism in our history. The support and contributions of fellow Americans unites us in our humanity and hopefully, in some small way eases the pain and provides support to the people directly affected. We urge our fellow industry members to join together in playing a significant role in uniting America and combating the perpetrators of this heinous act." STORIS Management Systems is based in Parsippany, N.J. The company has been providing consulting services and retail management software exclusively to furniture, appliance and electronic retailers since 1985. STORIS cancelled its worldwide User’s Conference schedule for September 20-23, 2001 as a result of the WTC attack. STORIS Management Systems, an IBM Business partner, provides computer turnkey solutions for furniture, appliance and electronic retailers. Over 300 retailers, including 27 of the TOP 125, have installed STORIS systems worldwide.
