SCFMA Names 2001 Apollo Awards Winners

The Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association has named the winners in its annual Apollo Awards program recognizing retail excellence. Winners of the awards will be honored Friday, October 5, at a gathering at Isaac Hayes Restaurant during the Encore Casual Market. SCFMA and Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. are co-sponsors of the event. The Apollo Awards recognize stores for excellence in merchandising and retailing of summer and casual furniture. Winners are selected in each of three categories. This year’s winners are as follows: • Single Store Category: Patio Shoppe of Coral Springs, Coral Springs, Fla. • Multi-Store Category: Carls Patio, Boca Raton, Fla. • International Store Category: Island Trading, Hamilton, Bermuda. The Summer & Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association and the American Furniture Manufacturers Association are headquartered in High Point, N.C. – the furniture capital of the world – and together represent more than 350 leading U.S. furniture manufacturers. About 80 of those manufacturers produce summer and casual products.
