Latex International Names Robert Zukowski Director Of Sales And Marketing

Latex International, the largest producer of latex mattress cores in North America, announced that Robert H. Zukowski has been named Director of Sales and Marketing. His responsibilities will include handling key accounts and developing new product lines for major bedding manufacturers across the U.S., reporting to Will Veitch, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Zukowski has been a member of the organization since 1996 when he served as Director of Product Marketing for the industrial products division of sister-company Latex Foam Products. In 1998, he became Vice President of Sales/Marketing for the company’s $15 million cosmetics division, which produced cosmetic applicators made from latex foam. "Bob has been a tremendous asset to our organization for many years and has the energy and know-how to help us refocus on our core business, producing latex mattresses. His extensive sales background and familiarity with both our operation and our product will help us continue to provide the excellent service our customers expect," said Veitch. Since May, latex foam production has been suspended due to a fire at the company’s headquarters in Ansonia, CT. The company is utilizing imported latex foam from Europe to produce its mattress cores at two facilities, a recently opened fabrication operation in Naugatuck, CT and its existing Western fabrication facility near Los Angeles. "My job during this important transition period," said Zukowski, "is to focus on our customers to maintain existing relationships and help the company continue to grow. During my years with LFP, I learned a great deal about the latex business and I look forward to working in the field with manufacturers to develop new product lines and preparing POP advertising and sales literature promoting latex products." Originally from Bridgeport, CT, Zukowski currently resides in Shelton, CT. He has an MBA in Marketing from the University of New Haven and a BA degree from Providence College. He belongs to several professional organizations including the American Marketing Association and the National Management Association and accepted the Connecticut Exporter of the Year Award on behalf of the company last year.
