Remember digging through an entire box of Cracker Jacks just to find the secret decoder ring? Retailers digging through a gift bag of candy from Magnussen Home at the International Home Furnishings Market just might find a key that opens a box containing a brand new Rolex watch. “We want to reward our retail partners for their part in our continuing phenomenal growth,” says Jeff Cook, president and chief executive officer for Magnussen Home Furnishings Inc. “From 1999 to 2000, we doubled the size of our company. We are on track to double our size again by late 2003, then yet another time by the close of 2005. Our customers have been an important part of that growth.” Each retailer visiting Magnussen Home during Market will receive a pale blue fabric bag full of such nostalgic treats as Tootsie Pops, wax Sugar Lips and Pixy Stix. Twenty of those bags will contain keys, and one of those keys will open the box with the Rolex. “We’re inviting retailers who find the keys to return to our showroom Saturday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m. to attempt to unlock the box,” Cook says. “It will be a lot of fun, and one lucky person will go home with a new Rolex.” On display is a man’s stainless steel and gold Oyster Perpetual Datejust, which may be exchanged if a woman finds the winning key. “Each of our retailers has played an integral role in our recent growth,” Cook says. “The watch giveaway is a fun way to celebrate our success.” Magnussen Home Furnishings Inc. designs, imports and distributes medium- and upper medium-priced occasional tables, accent furniture and case goods across all style categories for retailers around the world. The company brings nearly 20 years of experience with offshore sourcing focused on quality control of state-of-the-art technology, workmanship, finishing and timely delivery.
