General Automation, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GAUM), a leading provider of enterprise-wide database solutions and data migration tools, announced it has reached agreement to provide Nebraska Furniture Mart, North America's largest home furnishings retailer, with a multi-year e-Business solution set. Nebraska Furniture Mart will use General Automation's ePath(TM) migration tools to move its MultiValue database management system to the Internet and enable the company to engage in world-class e-Commerce. The company will also use a Groupe Bull Escala T430 Series server and mv.ENTERPRISE software, a highly powerful and reliable MultiValue database, to warehouse its multi-million dollar business data and interpret intelligence from this information.
Under the terms of the agreement, General Automation will provide consultation, software, equipment, education and on-going services for the platform.
"General Automation's new line of ePath migration tools will help us build a strong foundation for e-Business, while enabling us to leverage our existing investment in the MultiValue technology that has served us so well for the past 10 years," said Vic Stannish, Nebraska Furniture Mart Director of Corporate Systems. "The enterprise solution we purchased is based on General Automation's robust MultiValue database technology that is viewed as the easiest to use, quickest to implement, and best solution for companies like Nebraska Furniture Mart, which require industrial strength, no-nonsense technology applications."
General Automation's highly rated service and support was another reason Stannish chose the solution. "We're comfortable doing business with General Automation. We share the same values and I honestly believe their management is committed to our success. The customer service we've received isoutstanding. I see no reason why we can't continue our relationship for another 10 years."
General Automation looks forward to strengthening its commitment to this long-standing relationship. "We're excited to be working with Nebraska Furniture Mart to efficiently manage the tremendous amount of mission-critical data and business transactions it oversees on a daily basis, while enabling the company to share electronic information with other platforms, applications and e-Business environments," said Jane Christie, General Automation president and chief executive officer. "Our robust database management system and ePath migration tools will provide Nebraska Furniture Mart with the scalability and electronic trading capabilities that will support its rapid growth well into the 21st century."
The Solution: General Automation's ePath allows MultiValue customers to perform e-Commerce in the new, Internet-driven economy. The products offer platform independent connectivity and e-Commerce middleware, providing businesses a path to build an industry-compliant foundation for migrating, manipulating,
moving and gathering business critical information instantly. mv.ENTERPRISE is a high-performance, highly scalable and reliable MultiValue database that runs on a wide variety of hardware and operating system platforms. Leveraging the capabilities of UNIX, General Automation's mv.ENTERPRISE is ideal for businesses requiring a robust database solution without the support necessary for larger database applications.
Groupe Bull's Escala T 430 Series mid-range UNIX servers are robust open systems offering simplicity, reliability and performance for an excellent price/performance value. These servers run with full 64-bit capability and are optimized to manage databases and business applications including Internet/Intranet and enterprise resource planning at the workgroup or enterprise level. Unique auto-intelligent reliability features, high-throughput capacity and administration ease make these servers ideal for mission-critical environments.
