Icode (www.icode.com) has announced the formal launch of its long-awaited multi-currency, multi-lingual, MS-SQL-based, next-generation enterprise software – Everest®.
Under development for over five years, Everest is the result of Icode's combined experience as one of the pioneers in fully-integrated e-commerce and enterprise software automating any business from bricks to clicks. Designed as a multi-tier and completely scaleable application for the world market, Everest overcomes the numerous shortcomings found in today's business management software.
Targeted at small, medium, and large businesses worldwide, Everest is designed to work as an enterprise wide solution that drives all the critical areas of a business, from bricks to clicks: marketing and sales, shipping, purchase, inventory and warehouse management, finance, customer relationship, point-of-sale, and e-commerce. The software suite is easy for users to customize and configure, eliminating the need to change lines of code at installation, thereby shortening the average implementation cycle to a few days as against many months in the case of other solutions.
Deliberately conceived as a non-modular solution, Everest can accommodate almost every business configuration and environment, from single to multi-location operations to remote connectivity. It is also compatible with pocket PCs and web browsers, giving everyone in a company total control and access, regardless of their location.
The software has been designed for enterprises engaged in retail, wholesale, distribution, mail-order and service operations across a host of industries. Says Bijal Mehta, Icode's President and CEO: "Years of careful research have gone into the making of this software. We interviewed countless companies and organizations to gather the information required to design this product from the ground up to meet the demands of today. I have no hesitation to say that Everest is the most comprehensive, fully integrated solution currently available for businesses looking for enterprise software that does more than book-keeping but is less complicated than an ERP. What's more, it's competitively priced."
Earlier this year, Everest was voted `Small Business Solution of the Year’ by Microsoft at the Asia Fusion 2001. Everest is available in four core options: Centralized, E-Commerce Centralized, Distributed and E-Commerce Distributed. Everest Centralized enables real real-time data of the user company to be stored on a central server, allowing its client connections through a LAN or WAN.
Everest E-Commerce Centralized allows the Web and database servers to reside on the user company’s LAN. It enables deployment of the functionality of a multi-million dollar e-commerce site right out of the box.
Everest Distributed, which is expected to release in early 2002, is designed for companies with multiple/independent locations (such as the retail industry) where there is high volume of transactions, and/or dependence on WAN connectivity is cost-prohibitive, and where real-time information from the rest of the organization is not critical. Information is periodically synchronized between the local database servers.
The E-Commerce Distributed option enables the company’s real-time data to be stored on multiple distributed servers, across locations (single publisher server/multiple subscriber servers) and at their ISP (subscriber server and Web server) with periodic data synchronization with each other over a WAN. It allows the user company’s e-commerce site to be hosted at an ISP.
Everest is built around Microsoft's Windows DNA architecture and uses COM+, Microsoft transaction server, and SQL Server based backend database, enabling high performance while ensuring that the product remains reliable, flexible and scalable.
Everest is fully compatible with Icode's award-winning enterprise solutions Accware and Accware Online. Besides English, Everest will be made available in seven languages: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Portuguese. The English version itself will be offered in both UK and American English.
