The first Carolinas Woodworking Show of the millennium promises to be exceptionally eventful. Besides its usual assemblage of new technology, product introductions and educational seminars, the show will include a speech by furniture industry analyst Jerry Epperson and presentation of the first ever WHO (Woodworkers Helping Others) Award. The 15th annual Carolinas Woodworking & Furniture Supply Show® will be held Friday & Saturday, February 18 & 19, 2000 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Special Events Center. It will feature machinery, tooling, supplies and services for the furniture, cabinet, casegoods, millwork, industrial wood products, solid surfacing and plastics industries. Over 500 exhibitors have reserved their booths for the sold-out show, and event producers Trade Shows, Inc. say they expect a crowd of around 6,000 guests. Seven free educational seminars will be held during the two-day event; topics will include solid modeling, CNC router productivity, and surviving in a "rapid response" workplace. On Friday, February 18 at 12:30 pm, furniture industry analyst Jerry Epperson will present "The Changing Furniture Landscape." Guests who want to attend his speech should check the "Epperson RSVP" box on the show pre-registration form or call Patrick at 1-800-315-0648. Another highlight will be the presentation of the first WHO (Woodworkers Helping Others) Award. Given by Trade Shows, Inc., this award will honor a business that made an outstanding effort to help the victims of Hurricane Floyd (which ravaged the East Coast last September). Trade Shows, Inc. will donate $1000 in the name of the WHO winner to the hurricane relief organization of the winner's choice. "This is going to be an incredible show, truly worthy of a new millennium," says Keith Eidson, Vice President of Trade Shows, Inc. "We are excited about the special events we're planning and are especially thrilled about having Jerry Epperson as our guest. This show has grown so much over the past fifteen years-it's fair to say that it has become a highlight of the business year for thousands of industry professionals." Anyone wishing to attend the 2000 Carolinas Show should register at www.carolinaswoodshow.com. Admission for qualified guests is $10. Alternately, guests may ask an exhibiting supplier for a free pass. For safety reasons, no one under 16 will be admitted to the show.
