ISPA Elects New Officers, Board of Trustees

The International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) elected new officers and members of its Board of Trustees April 4 at the Association's annual meeting in Alexandria, VA.
Ron Jones, chairman and CEO of Sealy Inc., was elected to serve a one-year term as chairman of the Board. Jones has served on the Board for the last three years; his most recent office was that of vice chairman.
Jones succeeds Norm Veitzer, vice president of Omaha Bedding, who completes one year as head of the ISPA board. Veitzer becomes vice president, replacing Joe Carman IV, president of Spring Air Northwest, who is leaving the Board after seven years of service. He was Board chair in 1998-99.
Patrick Flippin, president and CEO of Kingsdown, Inc., was elected ISPA vice chairman. ISPA staff members Russ Abolt and Brian Dulmaine will continue as president and treasurer of the Association, respectively.
Trustees elected to serve two-year terms on the ISPA Board are Robert Hellyer, Simmons Co.; Karl Glasssman, Leggett & Platt, Inc.; Thomas LeDuc, Spring Air/Salt Lake City; Edward Lilly, Serta, Inc.; Michael Malkiewicz, Wickline Bedding Co.; David Orders, Park Place Corporation; Robert Parker, Restonic-Johnson City; Gerry Price, Price Mattress, Inc.; and Dean Woods, C.J. Hodder Lumber. Ed Malechek of Carpenter Co. was re-elected to serve a one-year term and remains as the general chair of the ISPA Suppliers Council.
Trustees serving the second year of their two-year terms are Damian Adderley, Springwall Inc.; Richard Diamonstein, King Koil Mid-Atlantic; Frank Gorrell, Jamison Bedding Co.; Pat Lawrence, Burlington Industries; Thomas Mundy, Lady Americana-Southeast; Jeffrey Sherman, Therapedic/MidAtlantic; and Sandy Van Dyke, Hickory Springs Mfg. Co.
Trustees ending their two-year terms are Carman; Herman Southerland, Southerland Inc.; and Randy Wiles, Blumenthal Print Works.
Established in 1915, ISPA is the international trade organization for mattress manufacturers and their
suppliers. ISPA hosts the biennial ISPA Expo Trade show and convention (next held in Denver, CO.,
March 6-9, 2002), and publishes BEDtimes magazine.
