HFIA Donates Books to Dallas College

Home Furnishings International Association was pleased to recently donate books worth more than $25,000 to El Centro College library in Dallas, Texas. El Centro College began serving students in downtown Dallas in 1966 as the first campus in the Dallas County Community College District. The donated books were used to further the library’s primary purpose of serving the educational needs of students. After losing their lease, HFIA’s Market Bookstore was closed. Many industry specific books were left in stock, and Norman Howden, Assistant Dean of Learning Resources, was happy to learn of the availability of the books. El Centro College President, Wright L. Lassiter, noted "The donations represent a valuable addition to the print collection that support our curriculum in the areas of art, interior design, architecture, and culinary arts."
