New Marketing Direction for Krug

Office furniture manufacturer Krug has shown yet another sign that it is not only serious about its new design directions but also about its marketing strategies as well. Len Ruby, President of Krug, has brought Gary Hierlihy into the company as Marketing Director. What’s particularly significant about Hierlihy’s hire is the type of experience he brings to Krug. He recently made a splash with the launch of LINKWORKS, a home office products company, developing an innovative line with Christopher Wright of Figure3. The lead product ConSole received widespread press, prominent position in the major dealerships across Canada and garnered a hot spot on the floor of EATON stores across Canada. Hierlihy also brings 6 years of marketing discipline from the financial services industry where he developed international marketing programs for Canada’s banks through the Institute of Canadian Bankers. He merged his MBA marketing background with design in 1994 when he was hired by the board of the Design Exchange in Toronto to develop its business plan. There, Hierlihy forged alliances within the design and manufacturing communities that eventually contributed to the launch of LINKWORKS.
