Councill Furniture Launches New Web Initiative Powered by E-dreamz

Councill Companies is launching a new Web initiativedesigned to aid business transactions and communications between Councill Contract and its dealers, as well as interior designers. Based in Denton, NC, Councill makes high-end residential and office furniture under the Councill Craftsmen and Council Contract names. Its furniture pieces are constructed by hand after they’ve been ordered to assure newly made and fitted furniture. Councill believes furniture should be built with care and quality and they wanted their new business-to-business Web site to embody the same distinction. E-dreamz approached the design and development of the site following the general themes of the furniture itself, elegance, sophistication and quality. With the main audience for the site being fine furniture dealers and interior decorators, a heavy emphasis was placed on product presentmentand navigation. The general public can view Councill’s collected works on the data-driven site by category and collection. They can also add things to a personal “portfolio” for later viewing after completing a registration form. In an effort to shorten the sales cycle within Councill’s dealer network, general users can search for a dealer by state and ZIP code, and then send their portfolio via email for dealer follow-up. All users can view the weights and dimensions of products, however pricing is reserved for dealers and interior designers that have access to a secure Web-based extranet. The secure area also features advanced product search and sort capabilities. In addition to providing customers, dealers and interior designers with the latest product information from Councill, the new Web site will also cut costs associated with traditional catalog printing and distribution substantially. Dynamic content on both the public and secure areas of the site are maintained with a Web-based content management system developed by E-dreamz.
