The DuPont™ Home and Industrial Textiles group, part of DuPont Apparel and Textile Sciences (A&TS), has formed a new, market-focused business unit to serve the furniture and bedding textile products segment. The new business unit combines the existing Xtra Life™ brand nylon fiber-featured in the popular Infinesse® brand of faux suede upholstery fabric-and the DuraLife™ brand cushioning fiberfill. The new alignment consolidates the combined offerings into a more consumer-driven, centralized market approach to enable stronger customer partnerships and new product development that reflect market demands. "Since we're a leader in nylon faux suede upholstery fabrics, and fiberfill furniture and bedding products, this new structure will enable us to offer our customers both brands in a performance package," said John Gorcyca, DuPont furniture textiles business manager. "We'll also continue to increase our offerings to include upholstery and branded fiberfill products that reflect consumer preference for quality and comfort in furniture and bedding textiles." With this new marketing approach, DuPont Home Textiles is able to provide a better, simpler, more competitive offering. DuPont alms to increase consumer preference and loyalty for its customer offerings by linking DuPont science with the quality of its brands, delivering newness and value differentiation. "The Apparel and Textile Sciences vision is to translate market needs into new offerings by linking DuPont science and product development with strong brand benefits that target consumer needs," said Tom Kearns, director, Global Home Textiles. "Our strong global networks enable us to meet market needs and make it simpler for the customer to work with DuPont."
