AFMA Annunces Completion of Environmental Website for Furniture and Cabinet Making Industries.

The American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA announced the completion of a comprehensive website, the Association's Environmental Guide for U.S. based furniture and cabinet manufacturing industries. Effective February 1, 1999 the website can be accessed at www.AFMA-ENVIROGUIDE.com. The user name for entry into the site is AFMA, the password is WOOD. In order to view guide chapters, viewers must have Adobe Acrobat software, which can be downloaded free of charge through the site. For non-internet users, the guide is being offered on CD-ROM. Environmental Guide contains detailed information on federal and states' environmental regulations and legislation of particular interest to the furniture and cabinet manufacturing industries. In addition, this site also provides news and links to many useful internet sites for furniture and cabinet industry environmental professionals. The site will be continuously updated as environmental regulations are developed and changed. This site, was developed with the assistance of Radian International and TEJ and is sponsored by the American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA), Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA), Akzo Nobel Coatings, Inc., and 3M. "The purpose of developing a website for the Environmental Guide is to provide furniture manufacturing companies with a quick and user-friendly avenue for obtaining critical environmental regulation information," said AFMA Vice President of Environmental Affairs Andy Counts.
