Mississauga, Ontario -- Bedroom and occasional furniture manufacturer T&J Furniture has named Chase Crossingham to the new position of vice-president U. S. sales and marketing. Previously, Crossingham had been a regional sales manager for Furniture/Today for the northeastern United States and Canada. Most recently, he held the position of Director of North American sales for casual dining manufacturer Dinec. T&J Furniture is a 20-year old manufacturer of veneer and solid wood bedroom and occasional furniture. Crossingham will be responsible for extending the reach of the company's business and brand in the United States. "We are very excited to have Chase on board to manage our business in the States," said Tony Orlando, a founder of the company and it's CEO. "He has a terrific knowledge of the retail landscape and will be highly effective in extending the long-standing success we have enjoyed in Canada into the U. S. marketplace." “Gerry Cockerill, a seasoned consultant to the furniture industry pioneered the T&J line into the U.S. over the past two years and has been acting in a part time basis. Gerry developed our new Visions Elite solids line and the supporting marketing materials, and introduced it into the US by building a sales team and opening our new showroom in High Point. Our exports have now grown to the point that we now need a full time position. Cockerill will continue to provide management advice for the duration of the transition and will be working on other projects.” "Canadian home furnishings manufacturers enjoy a reputation for high quality craftsmanship," continued Orlando, "and currency valuations serve to heighten this value for both the American retailer and the American consumer. The remaining--and perhaps most important--factors which catalyze furniture sales are delivery and styling. Chase will be working closely with our design team to respond expediently to style trends in the U. S. market; this responsiveness to detail and demand, coupled with a 4-week shipping cycle, will enhance the overall performance of our product on the retail floor." "The demand for solid wood bedroom is very strong, and T & J is perfectly positioned to help satisfy that demand."
