Simmons Company has a fresh new look and cutting-edge technology in its site, web site that is. Simmons recently launched a revamped web site, redesigned to ensure consumers can easily access the information they need with a click of a mouse. By employing new technology and adding enhanced features, Simmons Company is helping consumers surf its site with ease, browsing from topics such as product benefits to sleep assessments. Simmons web site now features: A user interface which loads quicker and is more user-friendly. Information on how Simmons products help provide better sleep through scientific advances. Enhanced dealer locator, which displays Simmons dealers on a street map. Expanded information on Simmons brands, particularly the Specialty Sleep Products. A multi-media feature that allows the browser to view such Simmons commercials as BackCare's "Five Zones for Your Bones," Beautyrest's "Leap of Faith," as well as a quote from Don Mitchell, vice president/general manager, Specialty Sleep Products. And the enhanced Simmons Bulletin Board, which posts answers to consumer questions in topical threads with the option of e-mail notification of additions to the threads. "We take this medium very seriously as a viable method to reach and educate consumers, and the enhancements we've made are indicative of that philosophy," said Don Hofmann, Simmons vice president of advertising. "The new look of our web site and the additional information we offer were designed with consumer friendliness as our top priority." In an effort to extend its scope beyond the bedding industry and explore new avenues to reach consumers, Simmons has also incorporated a link from such companies as the USA Network, which stems from Simmons' sponsorship of the made-for-television-movie "His Bodygurard." Consumers can also link to Simmons' web site through select Simmons' dealers sites and International licensees. Simmons infiltrated the Internet three years ago as the first bedding manufacturer to introduce a web site. Originally designed to market its RTA product, Simmons quickly recognized the potential of the Internet audience and went to work to re-design its site to include more comprehensive information. In 1996, Simmons Company unveiled its new and improved web site, which included the premiere of the industry's first dealer locator. Today's site maintains the company's commitment to deliver informative content in a compelling and interactive manner.
