AFMA Manufacturing Division Installs New Officers And Directors At Annual InMeeting High Point

The Manufacturing Division of the American Furniture Manufacturers Association conducted elections for new Officers and Directors at the Division's Annual Meeting in Charleston, SC, held July 29 - August 1, 1998. Douglas Williams of Hooker Furniture Corporation has been elected to serve the Division as President for the 1998-99 term. Ron Roseman of Alexvale Furniture moves to Chairman of the Board after serving the Division as President in 1997-98. Rick Coffey of Drexel Heritage moves to First Vice President, and Dick Little of HBF was elected to serve as Second Vice President. The Division also elected new members to the Board of Directors. Elected to serve three year terms on the Board are: Rick Kite of Klaussner Furniture Industries; James Parks of Pilliod Furniture; Drewy Penn of Sumter Cabinet Company; Buddy Sneed of Ethan Allen Inc.; and Taylor Vaughan of Vaughan Furniture Company. AFMA is a nonprofit, volunteer organization for U.S. furniture manufacturers, with over 350 corporate members representing 150,000 employees and more than 75% of domestic and global shipments of U.S. furniture. Headquartered in High Point, North Carolina, the world's furniture capital, AFMA maintains a Washington, DC office to represent the interests of the furniture industry on legislative and regulatory affairs to the government.
