Canwood Furniture Seeks New Showroom In High Point

For the past 5 years, Canwood Furniture Inc. has occupied the "biggest little showroom in High Point", strategically located in the heart of the Market at 118 Commerce Street. "In the early years, we enjoyed the tremendous exposure and visibility provided by this location, and were not particularly hampered by the modest size of the building" said Larry Schwartzenberger, Canwood's U.S. Sales Manager. "During the past few Markets however, we have become increasingly dissatisfied, given the continual expansion of our product line, with our inability to merchandise the space properly, display a representative product mix, or project a realistic impression of our size and capabilities," As a result, when the lease for the building expired following the April 98 Market, Canwood decided not to renew. At this time, Canwood does not expect to exhibit in High Point during the forthcoming October Market. "At this Market, we will be attending in a somewhat unusual capacity ... to undertake an intensive search for viable locations" said Mel Kemp, Canwood's President, "Hopefully, we will secure a suitable space, ideally some 5 times the size of our previous showroom, for the April 99 Market."
