NINTH ANNUAL ARTS AWARDS NOMINEES ANNOUNCED. JAMES GABBERT TO RECEIVE TOP HONORS

Retailer, manufacturer and sales representative nominations have been announced for the ninth annual ARTS Awards, honoring outstanding achievement in decorative accessories. Top honors, the 1997 Academy of Achievement Award, will be presented to James Gabbert, president of Gabberts Furniture and Design Studio. The ARTS Awards winners will be revealed at a gala event in the Great Hall of the Dallas International Apparel Mart on January 10, 1998. More than 1,000 guests are expected at the event, which will feature a video tribute to the winners, seated dinner and dancing. Tickets to the ARTS Awards Gala dinner are $60 per person and $50 for Accessories Resource Team members. Tables of eight may be purchased for $480 or $400 for ART members. Black tie is optional. The ARTS awards are presented each year during Dallas' January Super Market by the Dallas Market Center and Accessories Resource Team (ART). The ARTS Awards program, the only recognition program of its kind for the decorative accessories industry, is co-sponsored by the American Lighting Association, Home Furnishings Council, International Home Furnishings Rep. Association, Accessory Merchandising, Decorative Home Magazine, Gifts & Decorative Accessories, Home Accents Today, Home Lighting & Accessories, and Residential Lighting.
