WESTERN RETAILER OF THE YEAR AWARD GIVEN

The Western Home Furnishings Association has named both Fedde Furniture, Pasadena, California and Drexel Heritage Home Inspirations by Pedersen's, Santa Rosa, California as co-recipients of the coveted 1997 Western Retailer of the Year Award. The awards were presented to both retailers on Monday, August 11, 1997 during the WHFA Western Retailer of the Year Awards Dinner held at the La Meridien Hotel in San Diego, California. This award is the highest honor the Western Home Furnishings Association can bestow on a member of the 1,400 store Association. Western Retailer of the Year Award is given each year to a retailer who is exemplary in merchandising, advertising, has a commitment to support the betterment of the home furnishings industry and industry related activities as well as service to the community or civic organizations. Both retailers were outstanding in their own right," says Arne Rosencrantz, Garrett's Furniture in Las Vegas, Nevada and member of the 1997 Western Retailer of the Year Selection Committee. "With such a close call, the committee was forced to choose co-winners."
