GERS Retail Systems Announces Promotions In Its Sales Staff

In an effort to position itself for exciting, new growth opportunities in the coming year, San Diego-based GERS Retail Systems, a leading supplier of enterprise-wide relational database solutions for the retail industry, is excited to announce several changes in its sales department staff. The promotions/ changes include: Michael Corrao is the new National Sales Manager for the Consumer Electronics/Wireless division. Formerly the National Sales Manager for the Home Furnishings division, Corrao has been with GERS for four years. Mark Keelan is now the National Sales Manager for the General Retail division. General Retail specializes in working with department and specialty stores. He was previously the National Sales Manager for Consumer Electronics/Wireless and has been with GERS for five years. Tom Ponich is now the National Sales Manager for the Home Furnishings division. He's been with GERS for a total of four years and was previously the National Sales Manager for the GERS Sequel Lite division. Ed Swauger has been chosen as the National Sales Manager for the Mars Product. Swauger has been with GERS for one year and was previously the National Sales Manager for General Retail. The Mars Product, also known as Mars Demand Forecasting is GERS' next generation of inventory replenishment software James Vickers has been promoted to the position of National Sales Manager for Sequel Lite, which partners with Home Furnishings & CE/Wireless retailers. Vickers has been with the company for three years and was the Western Sales Manager for Sequel Lite. This division specializes in providing fully integrated systems solution services for smaller home furnishing retailers. Bob Green, the new Consumer Electronics/Wireless Regional Sales Manager for the Western division, has been with GERS for 5-1/2 years. His most recent position was as Regional Sales Manager for the eastern division for Client Services & Sales. Michael Peterson has been promoted to Regional Sales Manager for the eastern division for Client Services & Sales. An employee of GERS for just under two years, Peterson was previously the Telemarketing Manager for the Consumer Electronics/Wireless. Stever Boval is the new Regional Sales Manager of Professional Services. A three year employee of GERS, Boval was previously a Project Manager. "Our sales staff is made up. of some the most creative, hard working professionals you can find," said GERS Vice President Dennis Conforto. "I congratulate them all and am confident they can more than meet our company goals for 1998." GERS Retail Systems, who has clients in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Japan, is coming off its most successful year to-date. In 1997 GERS reported substantial gains with total sales up 37 percent over 1996 and a record 70 new clients. GERS Retail Systems provides fully integrated, Open Systems computer solutions software, hardware, and comprehensive training for department stores, specialty stores, Home Furnishings retailers, and Consumer Electronics/Wireless retail operations.
