Understanding retailer's needs was on the agenda at Ther-A-Pedic International's semi-annual membership meeting in Las Vegas, NV. Shareholders, licensees and sales managers participated in seminars and meetings hosted by Ther-APedic International, a worldwide association of bedding manufacturers. The semi-annual, three-day meeting included an introduction of Ther-A-Pedic's new D'amani International Collection of luxury mattresses, 1997 Sales Achievement Awards, a two-day computer training class and a variety of seminars for sales managers which ranged from niche marketing to retail support. "Ther-A-Pedic International wants its sales managers to effectively meet the challenges of today's fast paced business demands. Having the semi-annual meeting brings everyone together and keeps them up-to-date on the most effective sales tools," says President of Ther-A-Pedic International Niles Cornelius. "To help meet the challenging needs of sales, we arranged two days of intense computer training on the most popular, proven sales database ACT by SYMANTEC." As part of the two days of seminars, Greg Sammons, Vice President of Ther-A-Pedic Midwest, hosted a round table discussion to give sales managers a retailer's perspective on manufacturing and distributing bedding products. Jeff and Trent Scheuer, co-owners of Mattress Mart-a premier sleepshop in Michigan, posed industry related questions from Sammons and provided insightful information on topics such as what retailers look for in a manufacturer, service and uniqueness of the product. "Ther-A-Pedic works closely with Mattress Mart to provide the best product to the consumer," co-owner of Mattress Mart Jeff Scheuer said. "Having a good relationship with vendors and customers is important." The three-day seminar welcomed shareholders, licensees and sales managers from around the world. Ther-A-Pedic International's semi-annual meeting was followed with their debut of the D'amani International Collection at the High Point Market.
