AFMA Elects New Officers And Board Members At 1998 Annual Meeting In Naples

The American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA) elected a new slate of Officers and new members to the Association Board of Directors at their 1998 Annual Meeting in Naples, FL. Fred Preddy, President of Hammary Furniture Company in Lenoir, NC will serve as the President of AFMA for the 1998-1999 term. Ron Wanek, Chairman/CEO of Ashley Furniture Industries in Arcadia, WI has been elected to serve as First Vice President. The position of Second Vice President will be filled by Albert Prillaman, Chairman/CEO of Stanley Furniture Industries in Stanleytown, VA. Outgoing President Ed Gerken, Chairman/CEO of Norwalk Furniture Corporation in Norwalk, OH, moves to the position of Chairman of the Board. The Association also elected new members to the Board of Directors. Elected to begin a three-year term on the Board are the following: Alfred Audi L. & J.G. Elected to serve a one-year term is Bob McCreary of McCreary Modem in Newton, NC. AFMA is a nonprofit, volunteer organization for U.S. furniture manufacturers, with 350 corporate members representing 150,000 employees and more than 75% of domestic and global shipments of U.S. furniture.
