Kimball Home's newest furniture collection was chosen for inclusion in two television programs during the Fall 1998 International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, NC. Victoria Passage-a collection inspired by British Colonial styling-was highlighted in a "Global Trends" segment of Gefen Productions' Industry Update. The segment was broadcast on Friday, October 16 on Piedmont Triad's WXII. It featured two beds, an armoire, a dining room table and a china cabinet from Victoria Passage. Industry Update airs the first five days of every Market. "We were very pleased to have the one collection chosen for the segment," says Robert Cribbs, Kimball Home's director of sales and marketing. "We feel certain it increased traffic in our showroom, and once dealers got here they loved the furniture." Victoria Passage has also been selected for an episode of the home decorating show Haven. The collection will be spotlighted in a Furniture/Today "Market Trends" segment focusing on island influences. The weekly 30-minute syndicated show-produced by the Home Furnishings Council and hosted by Joy Philbin-reaches more than 80% of the United States. The episode incorporating the Victoria Passage segment will air during the spring of 1999. "We can't wait to see it!" enthuses Cribbs. "This show is very popular-just being a part of it assures us our furniture is newsworthy. Haven typically generates between 2,000 and 4,000 calls a week. We'll be anxious to see if viewers are as excited about it as our dealers are." Victoria Passage is made from solid maple and features 32 items for the dining room, bedroom and family room. Design elements include louvered doors, bold turned legs, caned surfaces and antiqued brass hardware.
