Rhodes Opens New Store in Florence; New Image and Look for "Guests" Launched

(A new Rhodes Furniture store opened in Florence Kentucky on November 21,1998. The store is located at 7864 Connector Drive in Florence Plaza across the street from Florence Mall. The store features the new image for the 123 year old furniture, company with a fashion forward focus directed towards women who "express themselves" with the look of their homes. The store leader is a veteran of the retail industry, Larry Pierce. "Guests are what customers are called at Rhodes, the new language representing the new culture in our stores", said George "Buck" Thornton, Executive Vice Preside nt of Rhodes. "The company has launched a major makeover adding collections from brand name manufacturer's like Lexington, Bernhardt and Henredon, and home accessories that accentuate the desired look. The furniture and accessories are "upstyle" reflecting the changes in the buying patterns of today's home furnishing buyer." "Our number one objective is to satisfy our guests wants, needs and desires. We want, always, to provide her with a more pleasant, exciting, shopping experience than she ~ expects We know a lot of folks in the Florence area have been driving to our Cincinnati Rhodes location and this new store will make shopping with us much more convenient not to mention what we can do by becoming part of the Florence community," Thornton added. Rhodes is the world's largest retailer of Alexander Julian Home Furnishings and Kincaid Solid Wood Furniture. The new store will also feature the new Grant Hill children's furniture line with a sporty bold took in the "Slam Dunk" and "Center Court" collections . Hill, of the Detroit Pistons, worked with Lea Industries to design the top-quality be droom pieces for boys and girls. The new store grand opening featured several special events. Rhodes sponsored NASCAR driver Patty Moise was on hand to greet guests and conduct a private car care clinic for the first 15 Rhodes guests who registered for the clinic at the store. Rhodes, Inc., a format of Heilig-Meyers Company, is one of the largest furniture retailers in the United States, with -93 stores in 14 states.
